Boes says she enjoys creating one-of-a-kind events—regardless of whether she’s planning a large-scale corporate event or working one-on-one with a bride. “I love being able to create a magical day for one client and then turn around the next day and create a whole new vision and success,” she says.

Boes serves as the vice chair of the Salt Lake Chamber’s President’s Ambassadors group and as vice president of finance at NAWBO.

Kamie F. Brown
Attorney, Ray Quinney & Nebeker

A shareholder and director at Ray Quinney & Nebeker, Kamie Brown practices in the areas of product liability and commercial litigation. She currently serves as litigation counsel for a variety of companies, including Fortune 500 companies, and she helps litigate high-profile, mass tort cases all across the country. 

Brown advises those just starting their careers to, “Follow your passion. Do not feel that you need to fit into someone else’s mold or definition of ‘success.’ Be your own person, build your own path and follow your own heart.”

Following her own heart has led to a passion for serving the homeless population in Utah. She has volunteered with Holy Cross Ministries doing legal work for underserved populations, and she is president-elect of The Road Home, where she has served as a board member since 2007. Brown has also worked as a pro bono guardian ad litem representing the interests of children in custody disputes.

Jonyce Bullock
Partner, Squire & Company, PC

A lot has happened in the last few years for Jonyce Bullock. She was named the first female partner at Squire & Company, one of Utah’s largest accounting firms. She grew the small business advisory and QuickBooks consulting practice team, and led the consolidation of three practice areas of the firm into one.

She’s also worked to bring more women into leadership roles in accountancy. Bullock tells women looking to enter the field to make sure they literally and figuratively take a seat at the table. “Don’t hold back. You belong at the table,” she says. “Your ideas, skills and knowledge will bring a fresh and needed perspective to the organization that you belong to.”

Bullock’s challenge in navigating the gluten-free world after her daughter was diagnosed with Celiac Disease motivated her to help others with Celiac or gluten intolerance. She volunteers as the national board treasurer for the Gluten Intolerance Group of North America.

Linda K. Carver
Assistant Superintendent, Weber School District; Board Chair, America First Credit Union

Throughout the downturned economy, Linda Carver says she’s proud to have maintained high morale and avoided layoffs at both the Weber School District, where she’s assistant superintendent, and at America First Credit Union, where she serves as chair of the board of directors.

Working in education and having influence in finance gives Carver the opportunity to make a difference in many lives. Both areas have a big impact on communities, and Carver says she loves helping navigate the many challenges those two industries bring. That passion and work ethic is due in large part to her father, Carver says. He encouraged Carver and set an example for her.

“He never sought the spotlight, but people sought him for his advice. He did all the right things for all the right reasons,” she says.

Carver also loves travel. She has been to every state and territory, as well as many countries. Antarctica is the next big destination on her list.

Kathryn H. Clark, CIH, CSP
Vice President Safety & Health, Workers Compensation Fund

“I find satisfaction in the part I play in preventing the emotional and physical pain that comes with workplace injuries and illnesses,” says Kathryn Clark, vice president of safety and health for Workers Compensation Fund. “Also, since a safer workplace is more productive, I help Utah businesses become more profitable by helping employers preserve and invest in their number one asset—their employees.”

With dual bachelor degrees in biology and public health, Clark started her career working for Kennecott Utah Copper as an industrial hygiene engineer. She joined WCF in 2005 as a senior safety and loss prevention consultant. In that role, she worked with top clients like the state of Utah and Nu Skin, helping them save hundreds of thousands of dollars each year in premiums by reducing workplace injuries.

Under her direction, the WCF established a customer safety seminar program that delivers more than 100 seminars each year to 3,000 people. And her team of safety professionals conducts more than 14,000 on-site safety visits annually.
