Salt Lake City – IPG COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE announced the sale of 23.23 acres of partially improved land at 5 S. 5100 West in Salt Lake City. Both the buyer, Standlee Premium Western Forage, and seller were represented by IPG Commercial Real Estate.

Salt Lake City – DePuy Synthes Companies acquired OLIVE MEDICAL CORPORATION, a privately held provider of high definition visualization systems for minimally invasive surgery. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Salt Lake City – GREAT BASIN SCIENTIFIC, INC., a development company for sample-to-result, low-cost molecular diagnostics, launched a public offering for its stocks in February.

Salt Lake City – The Salt Lake office of CBRE announced that WILMINGTON GARDENS in Sugar House has signed its first office tenant. TRAEGER WOOD PELLET GRILLS signed a new lease for 28,740 square feet. Tab Cornelison and Nadia Letey of CBRE represented the landlord, Wilmington Gardens Group, which is a partnership between Woodbury Corporation, Colmena Group and Dee’s Inc., in the transaction. Aaron Jones of NEWMARK GRUBB ACRES represented Traeger.

South Jordan – CENTURYLINK, INC. announced that its 1 gigabit per second (Gbps) internet broadband service is now available to more than 3,600 residents of Daybreak through the company’s ultra-fast fiber network. 

West Jordan – BC TECHNICAL, non-OEM provider of medical imaging solutions, acquired Branford, Conn.-based Eclipse Systems, a nuclear imaging service company.

Salt Lake City – The Online Masters in Public Health recently named the 50 Most Beautiful Medical Schools, ranking the UNIVERSITY OF UTAH at No. 2 on the list, just below Duke University School of Medicine.

Salt Lake City – EL POLLO LOCO, a fire-grilled chicken chain, signed a franchise development deal to open five new restaurants in the Salt Lake City area. Three long-time franchisees have committed to reinvesting in the brand and expanding El Pollo Loco’s presence to a total of seven locations in Utah by 2018.

Salt Lake City – SOLARTEK SOLUTIONS changed its name to AURIC SOLAR. The company says the new name signifies its rapid growth due to the rising demand for solar energy.

Salt Lake City – HRI Properties, LLC acquired the DOUBLETREE SUITES in downtown Salt Lake City. The 241-room DoubleTree Suites hotel is located at 110 W. 600 South and includes Stephen’s American Bistro and Bar 110 West.

Salt Lake City – GENEALOGY GOPHERS, a provider of online genealogy content and search tools, launched its new family history website, GenGophers.com. The website provides free access to a growing library of more than 40,000 downloadable family and personal histories, local histories and genealogy newsletters.

Salt Lake City – GROOPDEALZ, a clothing and accessories flash sales website, changed its name to ELEVENTH AVENUE. The new website features personalization features that allow users to create collections and get recommendations.

Salt Lake City – UNIVERSITY OF UTAH engineers discovered a new approach for designing filters capable of separating different frequencies in the terahertz spectrum, the next generation of communications bandwidth that could allow cellphone users and internet surfers to download data a thousand times faster than today. Once the filter is designed, it can be fabricated using an off-the-shelf inkjet printer.

Salt Lake City – UNIVERSITY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION unveiled its new interactive teller machines, now open for business at the UNIVERSITY OF UTAH’s George S. Eccles Student Life Center. University Federal Credit Union is the first financial institution in Utah to implement this innovative technology, which features the ease of automation paired with teller concierge service through real-time video.

Salt Lake City – CLEARLINK, in partnership with IHEARTMEDIA, 97.1 ZHT and MY 99.5, unveiled the newly redesigned CLEARLINK Lounge, a 50-plus seat concert venue that will provide attendees with the opportunity to experience an intimate performance from their favorite artists and attend special meet-and-greets.

CLEARLINK was also recently honored by PR News at its annual CSR Awards for Corporate Social Responsibility luncheon. Corporate social responsibility is a management concept where companies integrate social and environmental concerns in their business operations and interactions.

Salt Lake City – PROSPER MARKETPLACE, along with the GOVERNOR’S OFFICE OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (GOED), announced that the loan and investing company will build its sales division headquarters in Utah. The project is expected to create more than 500 jobs in the community.

Salt Lake City – Salt Lake’s iconic Sugar House movie theater was re-opened after a complete remodel of the now all-digital movie theater featuring CINEMARK’s new Luxury Lounger recliners.
