American Fork – CLIENTSUCCESS raised an additional $2 million in seed capital with existing investors Techstars Ventures and Peak Ventures leading the round, and follow-on investments. ClientSuccess has grown significantly since its initial launch in late 2014, now having nearly 50 customers, including several leading SaaS companies: Findly, Lattice Engines, Instructure, Balihoo, Degreed, Social Dental, Panorama Education and Sparkcentral.
Draper – IT backup and disaster recovery company STORAGECRAFT TECHNOLOGY CORP., is the winner of the prestigious ASCII Cup Vendor of the Year award. StorageCraft received the award after 26 cumulative award category wins at the eight regional ASCII Success Summits attended by IT professionals in 2015.
Salt Lake City – LANDESK announced the availability of its LANDESK Service Desk 7.8.3. This release delivers a set of user experience enhancements that help support IT organizations in their drive to modernize IT for their users. In addition to features benefiting service professionals in all roles, new features enrich the Service Catalog self-service experience in Workspaces.
Farmington – PLURALSIGHT rebranded after more than a decade in business, seven acquisitions and more than $160 million in funding. Since its founding in 2004, Pluralsight has grown from 400 developer courses created by 200 expert authors to 10 times that amount. The company now offers over 4,500 courses from more than 600 authors. The company chose to rebrand after acquiring seven companies over the past few years.
Provo – TUTE GENOMICS acquired the key assets of KNOME, a renowned human-genome interpretation company whose systems and services helped spearhead several of the greatest commercial advancements in modern human genetics. Tute Genomics is integrating Knome's knoSYS technology with Tute's cloud-based genome informatics and clinical reporting platform.
Lehi – WEAVE raised $15.5 million in Series B funding led by Crosslink Capital. This is coupled with Weave’s 2014 $5 million Series A round.
Salt Lake City – SIMPLECITIZEN announced a $700,000 seed round led by Utah-based Kickstart Seed Fund. The funding will be used for development, such as adding processing capabilities for different types of visas and green card renewals, and spreading SimpleCitizen to a wider audience.
Orem – JIVE COMMUNICATIONS, INC., a hosted VoIP and unified communications provider, achieved a courtroom victory over TELINIT TECHNOLOGIES, LLC., a company that has sued more than 30 VoIP providers.
Lehi – THOMA BRAVO, LLC, a private equity investment firm based in San Francisco, completed its previously announced acquisition of DigiCert. Prior investor TA Associates and DigiCert management and employees will remain significant shareholders in the business. DigiCert provides digital certificates to over 115,000 customers in more than 180 countries, and is one of the few CAs dedicated solely to advancing PKI-based solutions for enterprises and networked devices.
Provo – VIVINT, a provider of smart home technology, now has one million customers across North America and is experiencing record demand for its integrated smart home products and services. Of new customers, 80 percent are choosing multiple smart home devices with their system, such as a smart door lock, thermostat, indoor or outdoor camera, or the recently released Vivint Doorbell Camera. Vivint has also seen a 60 percent increase in smart home customers since the launch of its Vivint Sky smart home platform in the spring of 2014.
Salt Lake City – EVENTBOARD, a developer of cloud-based meeting room software and analytics that helps companies reclaim meeting productivity, announced a Series A investment led by Greycroft Partners with participation from Zetta Partners and Origin Ventures. It also unveiled its new platform to drive more efficient and productive collaboration in the workplace.
Provo – TECH TREP ACADEMY, an online interactive learning community for kids focused on technology and entrepreneurship, officially launched Tech Trep Academy, a resource for interactive curriculum in the areas of computer and game programming, Minecraft modeling, 3D printing, digital art/animation, sound mixing, media editing and entrepreneurship.Tech Trep Academy is uniquely designed to move kids beyond the traditional classroom setting, inspiring young TECHnology enthusiasts to develop new skills and providing the tools necessary to translate those skills into real world enTREPreneur experiences.
South Jordan – TRINET, a cloud-based provider of HR services, selected SaaS partner relationship management (PRM) company IMPARTNER’s technology to transform its partner relationship platform. Impartner PRM technology provides TriNet with a mobile-responsive Partner Portal that integrates the full suite of technologies needed to serve partners with deal registration, on-demand co-branded collateral, RFP submission, training and sales enablement tools.
Logan – KATOR, a startup medical device company focused on advanced tissue-to-bone reattachment systems, was granted a key patent related to its innovative suture anchor technology by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The patent covers a novel suture anchor device that eliminates the need for knot tying and locks different portions of suture to different portions of the anchor.
