Salt Lake City – The GOVERNOR’S OFFICE OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT and the ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION OF UTAH launched a premier interactive economic development map, now available online at locate.utah.gov. The site allows users to explore the state’s broadband availability, utility information, transportation, workforce and lifestyle features. It also allows developers to evaluate potential locations and print customized reports with detailed summaries of available infrastructure.
Salt Lake City – EMC CORPORATION, along with the GOVERNOR’S OFFICE OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT announced that EMC will expand its operations in Draper, creating 700 jobs and an estimated $62 million capital investment.
Sandy – The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football announced that Utah’s RIO TINTO STADIUM, home of the MLS’s REAL SALT LAKE and the ULS’s REAL MONARCHS, will host the 2015 CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Semifinal and Final match dates.
Salt Lake City – BANK OF UTAH now extends the option of Apple Pay to all Bank of Utah customers. The bank is currently the first and only community bank in the state to provide the service to its customers, according to Apple Pay.
Salt Lake City – DIVERSIFIED TRANSFER & STORAGE (DTS), a Salt Lake City-based public refrigerated warehouse, earned Safe Quality Food (SQF) Certification. SQF is administered by the Food Marketing Institute and is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative benchmark. DTS is now the first cold storage public food warehouse in Utah to earn SQF Level 2 Certification.
Salt Lake City – OVERSTOCK.COM, INC. expanded its operations into China. The online retailer is now shipping product from a warehouse located just outside of Shanghai. Overstock.com worked with Web2Asia to assist with integration into the country, and partnered with China’s second largest online retail store, JD.com, for the product launch.
Overstock.com, Inc. became the first company to solicit qualified institutional buyers in a digital corporate bond that will trade using the same technology that underlies cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin. This pioneering development is part of the company’s larger cryptofinance initiative known as Medici.
Salt Lake City – TRUCLINIC and HEALTHSOUTH REHABILITATION HOSPITAL OF UTAH entered a joint agreement that enables HealthSouth to utilize TruClinic’s telemedicine technology for discharge planning and continued communication via a hub and spoke system, connecting patients with their healthcare providers. The referring doctors now have real-time capability to follow up patients’ progress.
Sandy – QWERKE expanded its Utah-based company into Arizona, Nevada, Wyoming and Montana. The company transforms corporate cultures from weakness management to strengths-based development. To commemorate this expansion, Qwerke is challenging executive leaders to re-engage their workforce.
Tooele – ZAXBY’S celebrated the grand opening of its first location in Tooele. Located at 1064 N. Main St., the location will be the ninth Zaxby’s in Utah and the first for the Tooele community. Zaxby’s currently operates more than 680 locations in 16 states.
Salt Lake City – UNDER CURRENT CLUB, a cocktail bar beside Current Fish & Oyster, celebrated its grand opening. Under Current is located on the newly redeveloped 300 South corridor at 279 East in a newly refurbished historical building.
Salt Lake City – The STATE OF UTAH recently unveiled a newly redesigned website at Utah.gov. The goal of the redesign is to break down barriers between city, county and state services, allowing online visitors to complete their business when and where they need.
Salt Lake City – The Group on Institutional Advancement selected Stanford for the 2015 AAMC (Association of American Medical Colleges) Award for Excellence in Electronic Communications for their website. Utah-based AXIS41 played an integral role in that success—helping Stanford transform its 600-plus independent websites into a streamlined, consumer-centric digital experience. Stanford worked with the Axis41 team to transition from its CMS system and implement Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) across the entire site.
Salt Lake City – CREMINELLI FINE MEATS has a new line of all-natural hams—sevenhams—the first-ever premium hams from non-GMO fed pigs in the United States, available exclusively at all Whole Foods Markets nationwide. The new line of hams will be made with all-natural heritage Hampshire pork, pigs humanely raised in open living conditions and fed a vegetarian diet, whole muscle pork brined with sea salt and herbs and slow roasted for a full day, and non-GMO-fed as verified by Non-GMO Project.
