“I’ve never worked at a company that cared more about the future of its employees than Mozy. Not only are my college classes reimbursed, but my manager assigns projects to me that complement my field of study and give me excellent experience for the future,” says an employee.

Mozy provides online data backup services.

Workers Compensation Fund
Workers Compensation Fund (WCF) knows a company is only as good as the people in it. “WCF strives to attract and retain the best talent. By treating employees with respect and compassion, WCF has been able to create a culture that fosters excellence,” says Greg Summerhays, director of public relations.

In order to make sure employees are happy, Workers Compensation Fund offers a wellness program with onsite gym, many company activities and recognition events, a retirement program, tuition reimbursement and generous time off. To foster a culture of caring, the company also gives employees time off every month for volunteer work.

The care WCF shows for its employees is evident, as the average length of employment is more than 10 years. Summerhays says the company works to recruit good people and promote from within. One employee says, “This is absolutely the best company I have ever worked for in terms of corporate culture, care and concern for the individual, both within as well as outside the company.”

WCF is the state’s largest workers compensation insurer.

School Improvement Network
A flexible work schedule is a top priority for many people, and School Improvement Network has stepped up its game on this front. “I can start at 6:30 am and leave the building at 2:30,” says an employee.

Another of the company’s top priorities is employee professional development. One employee notes, “On my second day of work I sat down with an executive from the company and was asked, ‘What do you want to do, where do you want to go, and who do you want to be?’ I was told that I could go anywhere and do anything if I had a plan. I came up with a plan to reach my goals and was supported from that day forward until I was promoted four months later. The School Improvement Network has made the necessary sacrifices to help me become something I didn’t know was possible.”

School Improvement Network provides on-demand educator training.

Working on something important to customers certainly helps employees want to come to work, but the company offers many other benefits to keep people happy on the job. Most employees mention the flexible scheduling and gym membership with coaching as some of the perks they most enjoy. One happy employee says, “The wellness program really provides something I haven’t found at other companies. There’s always a challenge or something to keep me healthy.”

Others love the tuition reimbursement, 401(k) contributions and frequent employee recognition programs. One company-specific benefit is that employees are encouraged and given company time to do their own genealogy, says Jeff Weber, senior vice president of people and places. Weber says the company works hard to give people the resources to focus on their jobs, in addition to perks that make life easier.

“Our culture—who we are, what we aspire to be and how we work together—is at the core of everything we do,” Weber says. is the world’s largest online family history resource.

Employees receive a generous paid-time-off policy, as well as floating holidays, flexible scheduling and more than 250 internal events each year.
