Spoon, a developer of application and desktop virtualization technology, has partnered with LANDesk Software, a Salt Lake City-based endpoint, systems lifecycle and IT service management company.
This partnership will integrate Spoon’s application virtualization capabilities with LANDesk Management Suite, providing IT organizations the ability to utilize the robust agent infrastructure of LANDesk to deploy virtualized application packages to endpoints.
“The partnership with Spoon signifies LANDesk’s commitment to application virtualization and aligns very well with our core strategy,” said Steve Workman, vice president of product management at LANDesk. “Spoon will provide our customers with the tools and infrastructure required to deliver an efficient virtualized application environment. We are excited to add Spoon to our ecosystem of great software and technology partners.”
The partnership provides a transition for existing LANDesk Application Virtualization customers, including a single-click migration tool and the option to crossgrade to the Spoon solution at their current maintenance renewal cost.
“The combination of Spoon virtualization with the LANDesk platform will dramatically reduce the time, cost, and risk associated with application deployment and operating system rollouts,” said Kenji Obata, CEO of Spoon. “In addition to introducing support for the latest applications and platforms, Spoon will enable emerging BYOD and web-based delivery models for LANDesk customers.”
