CHARLES MEEKER joined intellectual property law firm Workman Nydegger. Meeker’s patent practice experience includes DNA analysis, luminescence and fluorescence imaging, pathology diagnostic equipment, synthetic diamond manufacturing and mining/drilling equipment.

Intermountain Healthcare named GAIL MILLER to its board of trustees. Miller is the owner of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies and serves as chairman of the organization’s advisory board.

Westminster College hired JOHN BAWOROWSKY as vice president for enrollment management. Baworowsky served most recently as a senior associate higher education consultant for Noel Levitz, the nation’s largest higher education consulting firm.

The Utah Department of Natural Resources selected ERIC MILLIS as the new director for the Division of Water Resources. He replaces DENNIS STRONG, who retired at the end of October. Millis has served as deputy director of the division since 2006.

Big-D Construction promoted CORY MOORE to senior vice president of business development, as well as to the board of directors. In his expanded role, Moore will lead business development efforts across Big-D’s seven offices and 14 operating groups.

MATTHEW SCHNITTMAN joined Datamark as president and CEO. He was previously the founder and CEO of TopSchool. He replaces TOM DEARDEN, who will become chairman of the board for the company.

Workman Nydegger named SHAUNA HUSTON as its new executive director. Huston succeeds JAMES ADAMSON, who will retire in 2014. In addition to her position as executive director, Huston will continue as human resources director.

Prestige Financial Services, Inc. promoted AARON DALTON to CFO. Dalton previously served as the auto finance company’s senior vice president of structured finance and business development.

DAVID ENTWISTLE became the chair of the Community Advisory Board for the Master of Healthcare Administration at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business. He has been a member of the board since its inception in 2011 and CEO of University of Utah Hospital and Clinics since 2007.

Layton Construction Co., Inc., named BRYAN WEBB executive vice president of its construction services business unit. Webb was previously executive vice president of Layton’s Interior Construction Specialists, Inc. The company also promoted PENN OWENS from business development manager to executive vice president of Interior Construction Specialists, Inc.

Nature’s Sunshine Products, Inc. appointed RICHARD STRULSON executive vice president, general counsel and chief compliance officer. Strulson most recently served as senior vice president, chief privacy officer and counsel at Herbalife.

RONALD R. SPOEHEL joined the board of directors of Profire Energy, Inc. Spoehel served as NASA CFO from 2007 to 2009.

Sundance Strategies Inc. appointed MATTHEW G. PEARSON as COO. He was most recently a partner with EHI, LLC.

Vivint appointed MARK DAVIES as its new CFO. Before joining Vivint, Davies worked at Alcoa.

JONYCE BULLOCK, a partner at Utah accounting firm Squire & Company, was recognized by CPA Practice Advisor magazine as one of the top 40 accountants under the age of 40 in the United States.

Vivint Solar hired THOMAS PLAGEMANN as executive vice president, head of capital markets. Plagemann was most recently at Santander Global Banking & Markets.

Four Weber State University professors partnered with the Department of Workforce Services to study intergenerational poverty in Utah with a focus on children. PAUL SCHVANEVELDT, DANIEL HUBLER, CARRIE OTA and PAMELA PAYNE are examining state records to find ways to prevent the poverty cycle from continuing.

Bank of Utah promoted ERIC D. DEFRIES to vice president of mortgage and consumer finance. DeFries previously served as assistant vice president and secondary marketing manager and as a secondary marketing analyst.

Skullcandy appointed JASON HODELL as CFO. Hodell was most recently CFO at Shopzilla. Before that, he was CFO and COO of Move Networks.

Wilson Electronics, LLC named CHRISTOPHER RUTHERFORD vice president of sales and marketing. Most recently, Rutherford was vice president of consumer electronics at Homedics. Wilson Electronics also hired JEFFREY GUDEWICZ as director of business development and product line management. Gudewicz was previously senior strategic sales manager at RF Micro Devices, Inc. 

SkyWest Airlines promoted BILL DYKES to vice president of maintenance. Dykes began at SkyWest in 1989 and became director of maintenance in 2007. He succeeds H. MICHAEL GIBSON, who is retiring after 26 years with the company.
