Great Basin Scientific, Inc., a molecular diagnostics company, welcomed RONALD K. LABRUM and SAM CHAWLA to its board of directors, expanding the size of the board from three to five. Both Labrum and Chawla will serve as independent directors at Great Basin Scientific, Inc.

GAIL MILLER will be honored as A Giant in Our City on March 26, 2015 by the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce. Miller will be the 36th person to receive the award.

T.J. MCGEEAN was appointed as CFO of C.R. England. He was previously vice president of finance. Prior to joining C.R. England, McGeean worked in various finance positions for DHL Express USA and Menlo Worldwide Forwarding.

MX appointed JAMES DOTTER as CFO. Before joining MX, Dotter managed finance and operations at InsideSales.com for five years.

FRASER NELSON, the founding executive director of the Community Foundation of Utah, is leaving the foundation after seven years at the helm. Nelson will be joining Salt Lake County as the county’s first director of data and innovation.

SCOTT BECK was named the new CEO of CHG Healthcare Services. Beck has served as the company’s president since 2012. He first joined CHG in 1999 and has held multiple leadership roles including COO, CMO and group president.

Tanner LLC announced JAMES GUTHRIE was named international tax director at the firm. Guthrie has 19 years in designing and implementing international tax strategies in a multinational environment.

Alliant Techsystems Inc. announced STEPHEN S. CLARK will serve as Salt Lake City-based Vista Outdoor Inc.’s senior vice president for human resources and corporate services. Most recently, Clark served as senior vice president and chief people officer for the H.J. Heinz Company.

TODD A. REECE, who advises clients on mergers, acquisitions and other business transactions, rejoined Ballard Spahr as a partner in the firm’s Salt Lake City office.

BodyGuardz welcomed MARC HODSON and SHAWN RAPIER to the company’s Utah offices. Hodson, who was named vice president of sales, came to BodyGuardz after five years with Skullcandy. Rapier, who was hired as executive vice president, brought with him 18 years of experience, including major roles at BRAVEN and iFrogz.

BRIAN BIRCH, director of Utah Valley University Religious Studies Program, was elected to serve as a board member on the Council for a Parliament of World Religions, the oldest, largest and most inclusive gathering of people of all faiths and traditions. The election of Birch coincides with the Parliament’s preparation for its 2015 worldwide conference, which will be held in Salt Lake City.

MICHELLE VARGAS was appointed director over the HR solutions division of FirstWest Benefit Solutions. Over the last 12 years, Vargas has held senior strategic level HR positions at technology and service companies in the state of Utah. 

The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association appointed BROOKE MCAFFEE as vice president and CFO. McAffee comes to the Olympic sports organization after spending nearly a decade with the Sundance Institute, most recently as its CFO.

MARK WILCOCK and WADE WILCOCK joined Carte Blanche as real estate agents. Carte Blanche is located in Cedar City and serves the Iron County area as well as Beaver, Kane, Garfield and northern Washington counties.

weBoost, formerly known as Wilson Electronics, announced JEFFREY GUDEWICZ was appointed vice president of corporate development. Before joining weBoost in 2014, he served as senior strategic sales manager at RF Micro Devices, Inc.

Emceesquare Media & Events hired CINDY MORTENSEN as director of events. Mortensen brings 12 years experience working in marketing and event management. The company also hired LIL BARRON as account executive. Formerly, Barron worked for American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity and Worker’s Compensation.
