Salt Lake City – The Salt Lake City Public Safety Building was named Project of the Year by Utah Construction & Design magazine. The building was one of 25 in Utah selected by a panel of industry professionals to receive Most Outstanding Project awards.

Salt Lake City – EXELIS received a multi-year contract from BOEING to produce advanced composite vacuum waste tank systems for use on a variety of Boeing commercial aircraft models. Production of the tank systems will take place in Salt Lake City.

Salt Lake City – BLACK DIAMOND, INC. partnered with W. L. GORE & ASSOCIATES, the inventor of GORE-TEX high-performance fabric technologies, for the Black Diamond fall 2014 apparel line. The line will have distinct technical outerwear features, including the debut of a new embedded, concealed technology called Cohaesive, a patent-pending cord management system from Cohaesive Garment Technology.

Salt Lake City – The International Downtown Association recognized DOWNTOWN SLC ALLIANCE with a Downtown Pinnacle Award for its work and initiatives related to marketing and communication.

Salt Lake City – UNIVERSITY OF UTAH’s College of Engineering plans to offer a new undergraduate certificate program in data center engineering. The new program is designed to prepare students to work in data centers run by government agencies and companies such as eBay, Oracle and Goldman Sachs.

Salt Lake City – DATAMARK, a data-driven enrollment marketing company, acquired the technology assets of ALTIUS EDUCATION, including its competency-based online learning platform, Helix, and its enrollment management and student retention platforms.

Salt Lake City – NEXUS CMF entered into an agreement with the Mayo Clinic to develop new technology for a partial temporomandibular joint (TMJ) prosthesis. Nexus CMF is the only company in the United States to manufacture both stock and patient-specific TMJ prostheses.

Salt Lake City – MYRIAD GENETICS announced that results from a verification study showed the Myriad myPath Melanoma test effectively differentiated malignant melanoma from benign skin lesions. The information provided by myPath Melanoma will help improve the diagnosis of patients with melanoma.

Salt Lake City – The Salt Lake City office of CBRE finalized the sale of 38.77 acres of land in Draper to the KIMBALL INVESTMENT COMPANY. Located at 170 Golden Harvest Road, the land is known as the White Mountain Business Park. It is adjacent to the new FrontRunner station and eBay’s new call center. Kimball Investment has plans to develop an office/warehouse project on the site.

Salt Lake City – PARK CITY GROUP, a software-as-a-service provider of supply chain solutions for retailers and their suppliers, moved trading of its shares from the NYSE MKT to the NASDAQ Capital Market. The company retained its ticker symbol, PCYG.

Salt Lake City – VISIT SALT LAKE received two industry awards: Successful Meetings’ 2013 Pinnacle Award and Meetings & Conventions’ Gold Service Award. Each award was voted on by the readers of the respective publications.

Salt Lake City – The University HealthSystem Consortium awarded UNIVERSITY OF UTAH HEALTH CARE its Quality Leadership Award for the fourth straight year, as well as a Supply Chain Performance Excellence award.

Salt Lake City – MATTRESS DEALZZ, a mattress manufacturer and retail store, opened its fourth location in Salt Lake City at 287 W. 2100 South. The store is 15,000 square feet.

Salt Lake City – BALLET WEST’s professional company and BALLET WEST ACADEMY moved to new studios at TROLLEY SQUARE. Ballet West will be at Trolley Square until October 2014 while construction takes place at the Janet Quinney Lawson Capitol Theatre and the adjoining Jesse Eccles Quinney Ballet Center.

Salt Lake City – AMEDICA CORPORATION entered into a distribution agreement with K2M that will provide surgeons and hospitals in Europe with access to Amedica’s silicon nitride interbody spinal fusion devices.

South Jordan – ELEMENTS MASSAGE opened a new studio at 1684 W. Towne Center Drive.

Draper – GRW HIGH PRECISION BEARINGS opened a new office in Richmond, Va., to serve East Coast operations.

Salt Lake City – The HondaJet, a new business jet, was unveiled to the public at KEYSTONE AVIATION, which is a HondaJet regional dealer serving 10 states.

Salt Lake City – Real estate firm GARDNER CO. purchased the U.S. Bank Plaza in Boise, Idaho. U.S. Bank Plaza is one of Idaho’s tallest buildings and home to companies such as U.S. Bank, Moffatt Thomas, Stoel Rives, Deloitte and Holland & Hart.
