SnugZ USA broke ground on a new 117,000-square-foot facility in West Jordan Tuesday afternoon. President and CEO Brandon Mackay said the new building will allow the company to consolidate the three-location operation they have now into one space.
Mackay said the building not only will bring the whole company under one roof, it will allow room for future growth and incorporate features the employees want like a gym and lunchroom. SnugZ USA, which makes promotional products, will move into the building near the end of the year.
Growing the company is about providing opportunities for the future, Mackay said. “We work hard so our kids can have it better,” he said.
The company chose West Jordan because the city had the most aggressive and responsive economic development team. Mackay said it’s not easy to find 10 free acres, but the city worked hard to make the process as smooth as possible. Employees are also excited because the company stayed more central without going too far north or south, he said.
The move is the beginning of a great relationship between the local business community and residents, said Matt Dill, West Jordan Chamber of Commerce board of directors chairman.
West Jordan Mayor Melissa Johnson thanked SnugZ for choosing to come to the city.
