Panguitch‘s GEM Theater is a Must See Theater Experience
The GEM Theater in Panguitch has recently changed owners and will will soon begin opening on weekends as well as in the summer.
The 1930s art deco style single-screen theater was acquired by John Crandall last month. Originally built in 1909, the theater accommodates live productions, musical acts and first-run movies. The Childs family fully renovated the 141 seat movie theater in 2011 to feature a VIP balcony with premium seating. In addition, they converted the theater lobby into a 1950s-style vintage ice cream parlor featuring.
The Historic Murray Theater
The Historic Murray Theater, a landmark south of Salt Lake City, was remodeled last fall by Mike Smith, its new owner.
The theater first opened in 1938, just in time to show classics such as “Gone with the Wind” and “The Wizard of Oz.” Smith now runs the Murray as a venue for live concerts and other events. It is a versatile space that gets used for corporate events, includingZions Bank’s Cheapster competition and private parties.
