Draper—Proofpoint, Inc., a leading next-generation security and compliance company, celebrated its expanded presence in Utah Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Utah Governor Gary Herbert, the City of Draper, the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, the Economic Development Corporation of Utah, and more than 150 Proofpoint employees. The City of Draper declared July 14 “Proofpoint Cybersecurity Awareness Day,” recognizing Proofpoint’s leadership in the space.
“Utah is becoming a tech epicenter as Proofpoint, EMC, Adobe and other leading Silicon Valley companies have a significant presence in our state,” said Utah Governor Gary Herbert. “Our natural pool of STEM graduates from Utah universities, and our business-friendly policies make Utah an excellent place to do business.”
A celebration of local community, the Proofpoint ribbon-cutting ceremony highlighted how the cybersecurity leader is recruiting top tech talent in Utah and fueling the local economy with competitive wages and benefits. The company’s Draper office currently includes 150 employees in sales, engineering, support, operations, services, finance and human resources in Draper. The office can staff up to 300 employees.
“Cybersecurity is an urgent area of need for most organizations—and more than fifty percent of the Fortune 100 rely on Proofpoint’s next generation security and compliance solutions,” said Proofpoint Chief Executive Officer Gary Steele. “As cyberattacks continue to evolve at a rapid pace, Proofpoint is committed to staying ahead of the threats. Our employees worldwide, including those in the Draper office, play a critical role in our ability to maintain our cybersecurity leadership and evolve, develop and deepen our security technology.”
“Demand for cybersecurity technology is at an all-time high,” said City of Draper Mayor Troy Walker. “We were pleased to declare July 14 ‘Proofpoint Cybersecurity Awareness Day’ in recognition of the company’s commitment to stimulating our local economy, providing jobs and driving revenue for our city, and state.”
